As a Senior Forensic Structural Engineer, you’re going to be the heart of the MFS Engineering team. Because our clients heavily rely on your expertise and knowledge. You’re the person that gives them insight into the root cause of their building’s damage. you’re the one and only person who can rescue them by proposing practical recommendations. Building upon such a reputation basically relies on your job as a Senior Forensic Structural Engineer.  As a member of our Forensic Structural Engineering team, you will carry out site inspections. It includes distressed residential, commercial, and industrial structures across Victoria. You will also write high-quality, unbiased, and independent engineering reports. These reports help a non-technical person understand problems and ways to fix them. Attending courts as an Expert Witness to support the findings and in your reports is also an exciting part of your job.

Your tasks and responsibilities

✓ Undertaking thorough Forensic site inspection and failure analysis of all types of structures;
✓ Identifying the cause of structural failure, building damage and defects by applying engineering principles and practices in accordance with current Australian codes and standards;
✓ Maintaining a high level of attention to detail in all technical aspects;
✓ Providing professionally written Engineering Investigation Reports to document all possible root cause(s) of building and structure damage and recommended remediation;
✓ Providing detailed scope of works for rectification purposes;
✓ Attend VCAT hearing when required;
✓ Meeting KPIs and ensure turnaround times.

Skills & Experiences

✓ Minimum bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia;
✓ Minimum 10 years of local experience in Forensic investigation and report writing (Industrial, Residential, and commercial).
✓ Registered and Endorsed Building Engineer;
✓ Solid technical knowledge of Australian Standards;
✓ Extensive experience in building defects inspection and reporting;
✓ Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time & delivery on multiple projects simultaneously;
✓ Completion of work within deadlines;
✓ Confident and clear written and verbal communications;
✓ Valid driving licence.
